What a joy to have been a part of Allison and Phillip’s Rip Van Winkle Louisiana Garden Wedding. They both got ready on site surrounded by their families and best friends, then shared a sweet first look together in the gardens. Phillip politely helped Allison carry her long veil over his shoulder as explored the gardens for some couple’s portraits before meeting their loved ones on the lake for formal photos. The two said “I do” under a big mossy oak tree in Rip Van Winkle Gardens, illuminated by the warm glow of the sun. After the ceremony (and some celebration hugs from their friends) the two walked over to watch the sunset on the lake together. The night evening was filled with smiles, hugs, and some celebratory scotch. It was a laid back day filled up with their love for each other, and the love of those who surrounded them.
A Rip Van Winkle Louisiana garden wedding is one of our favorite places for a wedding for so many reasons. Located in the historic, quiet town of New Iberia, this venue is a peaceful, scenic escape for couples who want a gorgeous outdoor venue filled with great photo spots. The venue features several ceremony spots including a beautiful historic house and a large lawn with oak trees overlooking a lake created from a collapsed salt mine. The tropical gardens are beautiful year-round, and you’ll likely see several peacocks while you’re there.
