Cait and Trent’s moody Mississippi River engagement session was filled with birds, wind, and lots of snuggles. These two live in New Orleans and decided to have their engagement photos taken in the place where they live and are getting married. Although the bridge that they are getting married on was under construction that day, we had the backup plan of Crescent Park for their session.
We’ve shot in this location before, but the weather that day made it seem like a totally different place. The sky was moody and the birds were flying around us, and the wind brought everything to life. We love sunshine, but there is nothing cozier than a cloudy day, so Cait and Trent embraced every part of the weather and snuggled all the way through it. Their free spirit must’ve attracted all the birds that flew over us that day (or maybe the birds just wanted their photos taken too). They are both architects, so we talked about how the gardens of the area had just recently been planted, and how everything had filled in since spring arrived. Barges passed by us and we could see the city lights in the distance, but it seemed like we had the whole park to ourselves.
Cait and Trent, thank you guys for spending that afternoon with us! We had a blast hanging out and we can’t wait for the wedding day. Here are a few of our favorite images from Cait + Trent’s moody Mississippi River engagement session:
