Molly + TravisRip Van Winkle Wedding

Molly & Travis are such genuine sweet people.  Molly spent the first part of her day surrounded by her closest family & friends who came all the way from Colorado.  Meanwhile, Travis spent time with his family & friends laughing & giving his puppy in-law a bath (more from that story to come later).  After they were ready, the two of them shared a first look & had a moment to soak in their love before heading to the ceremony. It was so easy to see how much they love each other.  Their wedding day was fun, laid back, and all about their love.

Here’s Molly’s sweet story of how they met:  “Travis and I met at an Aaron Watson concert when I was temporarily living in Louisiana for an internship. He was sitting in my chair (how rude ;)) and when I returned, he asked me to dance. The way he held my hand on the dance floor was a feeling I have never felt before. As the months went by, we both knew we had something special and I decided not to move back to Colorado, which happened to be the best decision of my life. Plus, my mom told me I would meet my husband when I moved to Louisiana, and moms DO know best! One year later, Travis took me back to the same park bench that he asked me to be his girlfriend and popped the question! We feel so blessed that God has planned and mapped both of our stories together.”

Molly’s favorite part of the day:  “It’s definitely hard to narrow down to one part, but I would have to say that reading our vows to each other was a moment that I will never forget. I had always envisioned writing personal vows, but… Travis wasn’t too fond of the idea at first. He didn’t want to become a crying mess during our ceremony.  After a little convincing, Travis finally agreed and we actually wrote our vows two nights before the wedding (I guess we work well under pressure! Or we may just be serious procrastinators?). When we said our vows, it was like everything and everyone had disappeared during that time. It was just the two of us. We look back on our wedding day and are so happy we exchanged promises that meant something to us.”

Travis’s (many) favorite parts of the day:  “The day started with Thad arriving super early, so when he arrived the fun had officially begun. The photo shoot went great, all good friends drinking beer and stuffing our faces with boudin. All up until it was time to leave, Baxter the tiny little dog went swimming in mud. So the brother in law had to give him a bath in the kitchen sink. Arrival at Rip Van Winkle Gardens started out with a photo shoot leading up to the first look (very nervous moment) with my beautiful bride (I was blown away). After that it was time to say our vows. Very nervous I was. Knees were trembling, but every one faded away as Molly and I made eye contact and started reading our vows. Then we smooched!! After that, the reception started, it was super awesome seeing all of our close relatives and our friends. It’s crazy how all those people came together just for us !”
