Kira and Drew’s Marigny Opera House Wedding was such a sweet one.

We first met Kira and Drew at their engagement session a few months prior and noticed right away how comfortable these two were together.  We explored the neighborhood where their wedding would be, and grabbed a drink at Lafitte’s bar.  A couple months after that, she came down again for her bridal session in the Marigny Opera House, where her wedding would be.  Here’s a link to that session in case you missed it.

On March 16th, in front of their family and friends, the two got married.  Kinfolk Brass band was waiting outside of the Opera House right when the two of them exited their ceremony, and everyone second lined to Capulet in the Bywater for cocktails on the roof, dinner, then dancing. It was a day filled with hugs and kisses.

Here’s Kira’s recap of the day:

“Seeing Drew for the first time exceeded every expectation that I had for the moment. I expected us both to cry but just feeling overwhelmed by joy and excitement in that moment, neither of us did! That time with him was so special. I have no words. One of the most special things to me were the speeches at the rehearsal dinner. I wish you guys (and Alex) would have been there to capture them all, but specifically the words from my brother and my Dad’s speech was honestly one of the most special moments to me. My cousin Kayla, who couldn’t make it because she is living in Australia, has an incredible voice and recorded an acoustic version of “From This Moment” by Shania Twain that we watched at our rehearsal dinner together on the balcony of or Drew and I to putting the flowers together with my mom, Drew’s mom Renee, and my sister-in-law-to-be Diane. From that morning, a few things that are sticking out to me would be the time I spent with my mom getting in my dress, and facetiming with her parents that couldn’t travel in from Canada due to old age (My grandfather is 92 this summer and she will make 90 this summer as well). My grandparents didn’t have a lot when my mom was growing up, but my grandmother worked at a jewelry store (a passion that I share with her). For college graduation, she gave me the first ring she saved up to buy while working there, the gold ring that I wore on my right hand. Having an old friend, Paige, there to do our makeup was a fun addition to the day, reminiscing with her! Seeing my mom all dolled up in her dress! She had never gotten her hair and makeup done before. Ever! I could tell she felt beautiful and was so happy and that brought me so much joy!! Waiting to walk down the aisle outside of the MOH with my dad. We were probably out there for 5 minutes but it felt like 5 seconds. The second line of my dreams and spending the whole night on the dance floor with fam and friends was something I’ll never forget. Finally, The. Party. Bus. It took us to Grits to continue the party!! Just wanted to shoutout one of my besties Maura that helped me pick everything out (and made that awesome Mrs. Dennis jacket for me) and Eric Jones (groomsmen) who helped design my ring, and his company Jewelers3 made it!! ”
