Josh and Abe’s vineyard wedding day is one that will always leave a huge impression on our hearts. We were lucky enough to not only spend the weekend with the grooms, but also with the friends and family that they chose to celebrate their love alongside them.  You can tell a lot about a person by who they chose to have in their lives, and the people who surround Josh and Abe are really incredible people.  Josh and Abe have such a special kind of love for each other and their wedding day was centered all around that love.  Here’s their recap of the day:

“It is impossible for us to pick a favorite moment from June 23rd, our wedding day. We tried, and we failed. We started with our vows, which were spoken through happy tears and nervous laughter. Surely that was our favorite moment. But then we remembered our entrance into the ceremony: walking down the aisle together, hand in hand, after our parents walked us in. Or maybe it was watching our best friend Taylor, who introduced us 10 years ago, officiate the ceremony and pronounce us married. Oh, and we can’t leave out the surprise dance we did to Eye 2 Eye from the Goofy Movie! That was a moment of pure exhilaration and joy. And it would be remiss of us to leave out the heartfelt speeches from our families, the communal cigar bar toast, the money dance, and the New Orleans second line parade that ended the night.

There are hundreds of more tiny but significant moments like these peppered throughout the day, and we are beyond grateful for our incredible photographers and dear friends, Caitlin and Thad, for catching these moments in pure artistry. These photos allows us to visit our special day whenever we want, which we do almost daily.

Cliche’s aside, it truly was the best day of our lives. And not because of some grandiose gesture, but because of these tiny moments with the people who mean the most to us. The love we share for each other is equal to the love we have for our friends and family who have supported us every step of the way.

And as thankful as we are for their love, we are also thankful for the LGBTQ men, women, and non-binary folk who came before us to pave the legal foundation for us to get married. It seems so foreign now, but it was only 3 years ago that same sex marriage was legalized nation-wide in the US. Our commitment to each other is also a commitment to love in the presence of hate, laughter in the face of fear, and silly dance numbers when words seem to fail. We will carry these with us for the rest of our days.”
