Emily & Mitch are two of the most laid back people we’ve met, & we knew after their engagement session that their Louisiana Barn wedding would be a sweet one. Here’s their recap’s of the day:
Here’s Emily’s recap:
“The wedding morning / early afternoon was so relaxing- the girls and I got our hair and makeup done, went back to the house and lounged around for a few hours. It was so great that I was just able to sit back and not do much at all for a bit. During this whole planning experience- since we decided that we were going to do a first look- which was in the very begining, I’ve been most excited about that moment. Since we don’t live in Lafayette anymore, we knew we’d be picking a field a day or two before- and when we did choose the right field- it felt like the perfect spot, being so beautiful, overgrown, and even right down the road from the venue. Knowing we’d see each other for the first time in this beautiful location got us so excited. Walking towards him in the field, I felt like it was just him and I, so secluded and in our own little world. Having this special moment of just US felt incredible. He looked SO handsome, and he told me how beautiful I was. We talked about each others day so far, and about how we were about to be Married! That moment between us was so perfect. It was everything that I had dreamed of and more! After saying I DO in the ceremony, I had the biggest rush of excitement, confidence, and comfort run through me, like we were once again in our own little world. We decided to attempt to casually dance down the isle to our friend playing “is this love” by Bob Marley, and once we got to the back of the isle we had our own little dance session- singing along with the song, spinning each other around, and dancing with friends, and in that moment I felt amazing-so full of energy and so full of love for Mitch.”
Here’s Mitch’s recap:
“While the day seemed to fly by, my memory latches on to the brief moments that seemed to slow down time. Relaxing with my groomsmen eating gumbo and waiting for the wedding to start was a great moment that I will cherish. The first look session was perfect and allowed us to share an intimate moment with each other before the ceremony began. The car ride back from the first look I was filled with serene excitement as we caught up on what the other had been doing that day. During the ceremony I was filled with joy, love, and laughter (when our unity sand frame failed). The excursion into the cow pasture was hilarious and well worth the effort. The reception is a blur that was filled with great food, lots of dancing, and memorable conversations with friends and family.”
We also want to thank our friend Nathan who helped us with this wedding.
Thank you so much Emily + Mitch for allowing us to be a part of such a special day. It was so much fun working with you. Here are a few of our favorites from their wedding day:
