Danni and Tom showed us around New Orleans City park’s Couturie forest for their sunrise engagement session. The sun painted the whole park in a gorgeous light when we arrived. We consider ourselves morning people and love sunset sessions for a few reasons. First off, sunrise light is so warm and gorgeous in photographs. Our favorite locations for sessions are typically empty early in the mornings and what can be better than starting your day snuggled up with your love for some photos.
The four of us explored a part of the park that Thad and I had never seen before. Danni leads kids through the forest for nature walks, so their session was an educational one as well. While taking photos and exploring the forest, we spotted turtles, snails, and even a snake along the way. The Couturie forest is one of City Park’s best-kept nature trail secrets. This tranquil forested area is typically less known and less populated than other spots in the park, so it’s perfect for a quiet engagement session, away from everyone else. The trail winds through huge majestic oaks and waterways. We swapped travel stories, learned more about them and the forest, and Danni and Tom danced all the way through it.
Once the park started heating up, we headed over to the French quarter for French Truck for a morning coffee and a stroll around Royal street. It was such a fun morning with these two. Here are a few of our favorite images from their Couturie Forest City Park Engagement Session
