ORDER OF EVENTS
We were so happy to work with Cassie, Hunter, and Willa for a laid-back Bywater New Orleans family session.
We photographed Cassie and Hunter’s elopement a few years ago and became good friends with them in the process. (Here’s a link to their Yosemite Elopement.) We feel so lucky that they’ve hired us for more milestone photos. The session started out in the air-bnb that they rented for the weekend. We loved how chill and laid-back it felt to start their session there. Our favorite family photos are the ones where the kiddos can be themselves, and parents can feel relaxed, and their Air bnb was perfect for that.
After a few minutes of using window light for indoor portraits, we explored the streets of New Orleans’s Bywater area. Willa loved all of the pots of flowers on people’s porches, so flower picking became the theme of the afternoon. The New Orleans Bywater is a residential area with a bohemian vibe filled with murals, colorful houses, and character, and located right by the water of the Mississippi River (hints the name “Bywater”). If you love neighborhoods with quirky charm, you’ll love exploring this area.
